Which Toothbrush Should I Choose?
Did you know you should begin brushing your little one's teeth as soon as they arrive? At this stage, it's best to use an infant toothbrush with soft bristles. You can incorporate a tiny smear of toothpaste that's safe to swallow. That helps them acclimate to the feel of toothpaste in their mouth.
Toddlers can use a child-size toothbrush, and it's best to continue using the safe-to-swallow toothpaste until around age three when they learn to spit it out after brushing.
Electric toothbrushes are best for kids who are a bit older and can manage them effectively, around ages seven to eight. An electric toothbrush takes the guesswork out of brushing for your child. Most have timers to help ensure they're brushing for the full recommended two minutes. Some even play music or your child's favorite two-minute song to help keep them on track.
